Really need help on this one guys, need advice from people that have actually been to Marmaris and met the sort of guys out there, found this site on google so hope it works! Ive been back in the UK for 2 weeks and I was seeing this guy (see pic) called David but his real name is Orhan. He's started asking me for money because he cant get a job because the season is ending. I really dont know what to do!?! He said he loved me and that he is not like the others around Marmaris, I would consider it but Im a bit confused because sometimes when i ring or text him he doesnt reply, that makes me think what is he up to?

Please if anyone has got any information on David, good or bad, I would be greatfull!

Does anyone know where these celebrations are held ? places of worship or homes etc or what ever else goes on at them, caught a biiig fish there a couple of days ago and put it in his bucket as he was leaving he tried to give me it back i said no and let him keep it he said no and made a gesture as if to say me and baby eat and i tried to explain i wasnt confident on cooking and cutting it ( as some are poisonous over here better safe than sorry )

anyways he was pointing towards the fish and making gestures as if to say he will show me how to cut and cook the fish at bayram celebration, so i presume its some sort of feasting event ?

i know its culturally the time where they show respect to elders and people with more respect than themselves but have no idea what to expect at the celebrations for it ?

iv alwasy posted on this forum,, i met my partner oh Holiday in 2006 we were together 4 years and got married this year, every1 knows of the difficutlies of a long distance relationship so i wont write about that. He here know living with me but is so different, not wot i expected at all.

he is soo moody, when he wants to do sumtin he will otherwise wont, i feel soo trapped, its a shame.. he gets on with my family but at times sulks and doesnt appreciate everything my family and i have done for him. he is working but is mising his family and culture..we have our days when its good but thats cos hes in a good mood or i just leave him to it, he has raised his hand at me a number of times but iv given as good as i got but im soo hurt and upset about it. in an argument he always says just one more year and im gone, i know thats cos he has 2 years b4 he gets his visa, i think i know what every1 will write but i guess i just needed to air my feeling. Hes very good with every1 around me and him but he doesnt do anything for me, hes forever on the laptop, chatting to his mates. im overweight and smoke and he has an issue withthat too. i know myself im overweight but i can carry it off im 5ft 8 size 16 and know can look good, but he always makes me feel like shit...i have Polysystic ovaries which makes me the weight i am. but he cant see that, were both muslim..his family like me very much and he knows they do but i just dont kno what his problem is,when he talks to me and i ask him what he said to me he said i was angry i do love u

i need constructive advise please

ps im asian so im very reluctant to leave and divorce him as it was a struggle getin family to agree to marry a turkish bloke and now if i tell em i want to leave itl be a big problem, although i knw its my life but people around me do matter..

Right well my daughter had her first 3 lots of injections back in England .. and she hasnt got to her have her next injections until she's 12 months & again at 13 months BUT the thing is, im guna be working in a place called Diyarbakir winter time and i very much doubt they'l let me have time off work for both november & december and if they did it'l kind of be too much for my daughter to travel back and fourth in such small time .. so was thinking why don't i just get them over here?! But then i'm thinking what if my doctors won't be happy about it, will the doses be the same, is it healthy to have done half in england then half in turkey .. It's my fault really i said to myself if i get the injections i'l start them either in england or turkey then finsh them in the same country cos i don't wanna risk anything ... But was just thinking seen as though im living here maybe there's more injections here she'l need ..
Anyone got an advise or been in the same boat ?

I talked about this the other day, I have set up this thread to help us all out a bit with our Turkish!

Each day I will add a new word with its English translation.

Please feel free to add your own words and sentences with translations!! The more the better!!

If you need help translating something from turkish/english then please use this thread as well, Im sure somebody will be able to help us out!!

Im not fluent in Turkish and I doubt I ever will be (lol) but general conversation I am ok with, and when Im over there I tend to pick up the lingo again, but when Im here I never remember! So Im hoping this thread will encourage me and others to study more and keep our brains motivated lol!!

Ive just got back from a fantastic holiday to marmaris which is a place myself and my family will deff vsit again.
But i have to say never and i mean never.Will i go inside Tiernas again.As this was situated close to centre point and near our hotel.My family were keen to check this place out.I sincerely wish we hadnt bothered.Even though it had been highly reccomended and had fairly good reviews i came away very dissapointed.
The owner Edwina i believe her name is was thoroughly rude and obnoxious.From the outset it was clear as we didnt have irish accents we wernt welcome .Although unknown to her and other staff we are irish just lost the accents long ago.
She could be heard muttering her distaste for english people and her dislike of prodistents.Funny that a racist person being married to a turkish man and making her money out of foreigners.
